Movie at ChandanTheater

I was in gate 7 of L&T (I work in gate no. 1 . We have quite a few gates in L&T and outsiders often get confused to locate the correct one) for some meeting and it was a co-incidence that I met Amit Sinha. Amit Sinha is a tall lanky character who boasts of having 2 girlfriends and is a good travel guide. His hobby is to read railway's time table. This blog is not about amit's hobbies so pardon me for that. We exchanged hi's and he asked for a movie in the evening, luckily it turned out to be a Saturday and not the one when we have full working day. And the movie we decided was Luck by Chance (LBC) with Vineet Kumar to accompany us.

After that I got busy in my chores. I also had to attend a wedding reception of one of my cubicle mate in cafeteria at gate 7. It was a nice reception with nice food. I forgot about our movie plan and went home. I stay in Malad(W) and I was again lucky to catch the 3:10 yellow bus to Pushpa Park. I had never known that meeting a friend and catching a L&T bus is only possible if your luck favors you. But yes, it is true in Mumbai. And to add to it, movies are also made with that title "Luck By Chance".

A message breaks my evening nap and it reads like" Tickets booked for LBC at ChandanTheater in Juhu(W)) at 9:30 pm." ChandanTheater, it evokes memories of our college time where we used to go to some cheap talkies and buy stall tickets. Chandan is also name of one of my friend's from Gaya. A single word can evoke so many different memories. That's why I love the power of words.

Not wasting time for catching the 9:30 movie, I decided to leave home by 7:30 pm. You can understand the Mumbai traffic is as worst as it can get. There was some confusion with the exact location of our Chandantheater , so we decided to meet on a neutral venue at "Santacruz". But, as usual, I had some misgivings about the neutral venue also. So I decided to confirm it with my cousin and she told me to get down at Andheri (W). Amitjee all set for santacruz was about to board the train from jogeshwari. Pardon me for all these stations. Mumbai have so many of them that a sane person can become insane.

Now that our venue had changed, I had an intuition that Amitjee would also board the same train and we will meet at the station itself. And again luckily , as my intuition was right, He alighted the same train and we met on the station. I sometime ponder about these co-incidents and it gives me a feeling of déjà vu. The other interesting thing that happened was, while we were leaving the station, we had a rendezvous with the ticket checker. Again we were lucky to have the tickets and were overwhelmed by the fact that the ticket checker asked for the tickets. It gives a feeling of value for money.(ticket ka paisa wasool). The ticket checker did a rajnikant in returning us the tickets. zooop.

Vineet decided to join us directly at ChandanTheater as he has already visited the place before. Finally, we 3 were united in movie "Luck by chance", What an irony , you have to be lucky to see a movie called "Luck by chance" with your friends.

  1. good read... there is chance of improvement in coherence... sentences can be more related and there can be central theme of the article...

  2. nice read... if asking for improvement, I will say there is scope in the area of coherence and central theme can be shown more clearly... I think the whole article is about luck by chance... so you could have mentioned each incident(where luck ws invld) in a separate para where you could describe them in detail..
